Dayhiking Mt. Ulap with Swēg

We all have that akyat moment where we ask ourselves, “WTF am I doing here? I could have Netflixed at home. Or drooled myself to sleep.” But NO. You are in the middle of a climb with no way back. It’s just too late for that. You’ve got no freaking choice but to finish it. Then at the end of day, once you have reached the summit, when you have seen more than what you came for, that decision will become the best decision you’ve made so far.

Kicking off to Mount Ulap with a mandatory selfie

The weather went in tune with the hike as it was simply perf (at the start). Cloudy, not too hot and no rain. ❤

When you take that uphill shit and end up in a scenery like this. Totally worth it.

There are times, too, in life when something takes your breath away and you know then and there, you are changed. Mountains bring us those times. Overwhelming nature, fresh air, silence and solitude– things that climbers seek, and things that rejuvenate the soul.

Tapos of course, after a few minutes patay na kayong lahat sa pagtulog. It alwaays ends that way.

Everything was way more than worth the pain and shaky legs.

All thanks to Anthony and Rizza Pigao for organizing and guiding us along the trail, and to my superb mates Marvin, Matthew, Ace, Kevin, Henry, Emman, Kim John and Julio. To our next trips together!
